Focus on Jesus {Scripture Memory 2020} - Part 1

During these unsettling times when an illness has shut down the world for an indeterminate amount of time, there is only one place to look for peace and comfort.

Jesus Christ.

Let's focus on Jesus together by memorizing Scripture that encourages us. You may choose your own verses. You may go at your own pace.

My first verse will be Revelation 22:14, because it reminds me that this earth is not my final home, that Jesus has a different and much holier place for me to call Home.

Let's not focus on the coronavirus (COVID-19). Let's not focus on the panic. Let's not focus on the worry.

Instead, let's focus on Jesus. He is the One who grants us courage, comfort, peace, grace, salvation, steadiness, confidence, and an everlasting home.

What will your first verse be for our Focus on Jesus Scripture Memory 2020 event?

Please invite all your friends to join in. The more, the merrier! This will be our way of spreading peace and comfort through these trying times.

How long does it normally take you to memorize a Scripture?

How often would you like to see updates and prompts to begin working on a new verse?

(I'm kind of throwing this together at the last minute, so your answers to these questions will help me get better organized.)

Happy studying!

I'm memorizing Yesha'yahu (Isaiah) 60:2. Thanks Andrea for coordinating this! Lord, bring us back to our first love, You!!

I think I'll join with Colossians 1:9. Weekly reminders would be helpful.

Welcome, Lila! So glad you're joining in. Be sure to subscribe to this blog so you'll get my latest articles. I'll make a note now to put a conspicuous reminder about the verses in every week's article, even if it's not an article specifically for this challenge. I post new articles every Monday. Happy studying! By the way, I love that verse. It was one of my memory verses back in 2015. More to come on that journey in a future article. ;)

I'm first focusing on Joshua 1:9, which tells us to "be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." :)
